Marisol Salazar

BIOGRAPHY

Mari Salazar has worked for BOK Financial’s (locally known as Bank of Texas) Energy Lending team for 20 years. She is currently a senior vice president and regional manager of the Houston Energy Financial Services Group. Before BOK Financial, Mari served as a senior credit analyst at Comerica Bank in Houston, Texas, in the Energy, Real Estate and Energy Loan Workout groups.

Mari has a Bachelors of Business Administration and Economics (Class of ’95) and a Masters in Business and Finance (Class of ’99) from the University of St. Thomas, in Houston, Texas.

In 2013, she was selected by the Houston Business Journal as one of the top 100 most influential Houston business leaders in the energy industry. Mari was also recognized as a 2017 “Outstanding Women in Banking & Finance” recipient by the Women’s Resource of Greater Houston, named Oil & Gas Investor Magazine’s 2020 “25 Influential Women in Energy,” selected as one of Comcast’s “2021 Hispanic Hero Award Recipients” and was recently named as a “2022 Breakthrough Woman” by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

She is an active member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, serving as a Captain on the Go Tejano Committee. Mari serves on the Endowment Board for the Small Steps Nurturing Center, an organization focused on early childhood education, where she also served as its past Executive Board member and Treasurer. Mari serves on the University of St. Thomas Alumni Board and helped establish the “UST Interview Closet” – named in honor of her late mother – (Maria Cruz), which provides career attire and accessories to students and alumni. Mari is a member of the Latin Women’s Initiative, an active board member with Performing Arts Houston and previously served on the board of former Texan’s Linebacker Whitney Mercilus’ WithMerci Foundation, which focused on children with disabilities.

Mari lives in Houston, Texas. When not working, Mari enjoys traveling, playing tennis, running marathons and ultramarathons and spending time with her family.
