Rev. Susie Puac serves as Pastor of Children and Family Discipleship at Christ Church Sugar Land. She graduated with a Master of Divinity from Southern Methodist University-Perkins School of Theology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown. She works at DePelchin Children’s Center as a family educator providing in-home parent education and managing family education programs and as the Literacy and Special Needs Specialist at the Children's Museum of Houston.  

Born in Guatemala, Rev. Susie's early years began in a humble two-bedroom home made of adobe bricks. Her parents struggled to provide stability in a country ravaged by political unrest and poverty. Like many immigrants, her parents made the courageous decision to leave Guatemala for the land of opportunities.

She comes from a family of luchadoras, strong, prayerful women who showed her how to stand up for the innocent, the weak, and against injustice in all its forms. As a woman of indigenous Mayan ancestry, an immigrant, and a female spiritual leader, she finds grit and determination in her Latina heritage.
