Mariachi Del Bosque wins Houston Rodeo Mariachi Invitational
Celebrating our Hispanic Culture
Houston, TX, March 24, 2025 – On March 15-16, 2025, Mariachi Del Bosque claimed victory at the prestigious Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Go Tejano Committee 32nd Annual Mariachi Invitational. Five mariachi groups competed in this two-day competition, with the top two advancing to the grand finale. The winners were ultimately chosen by crowd applause in front of a record-breaking audience.
The pride of Conroe, Texas, won over the crowd with classic hits “Viva México”, “Volver, Volver”, and “El Rey”. This was their second time making it to the finals—having placed second in 2024—but this year, they took home the gold.
Mariachi Del Bosque is proof that passion and dedication can turn a dream into reality. Co-founder Marissa Anthony reflects on their journey: “We started small, but through hard work and heart, we’ve built something bigger than ourselves.
Winning first place at the Houston Rodeo is just the beginning.” Most of the group’s 13 members have performed in college mariachi programs, including the University of Houston, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and Sam Houston State University.
This collegiate experience allowed them to hone their musicianship, develop their stage presence, and gain invaluable performance experience.
“I am so proud to be a member of Mariachi Del Bosque. The group has helped me grow as a musician in ways I never imagined. Just three years ago, I was terrified of singing in front of a small audience, and this past weekend, I performed in front of more than 70,000 people,” says Esmeralda Regalado, co-founder of the group.
